Welcome to Delhi, the vibrant capital of India. On arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport by an English-speaking representative and transferred to your hotel. Delhi is a city where centuries of history blend with rapid modern growth, land said to have witnessed seven different cities rise and fall, where the old and the new coexist in a captivating panorama.
In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Jama Masjid, the historic Friday Mosque and one of the largest in India. At the end of the day, we recommend a rickshaw ride through the bustling lanes of Old Delhi, before returning to your hotel.
Overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast, set out to explore New Delhi. Drive past India Gate, the war memorial honoring India’s fallen soldiers, the President’s Residence (formerly the Viceroy’s Palace), the Parliament House, and the Secretariat Buildings, which blend Victorian and 20th-century architectural styles.
Continue your journey to Jaipur, stopping en route at Qutub Minar, one of Delhi’s most remarkable ancient monuments. This 234-ft tall tower, exquisitely hand-carved, houses the famous Iron Pillar, which has resisted rust for over 1,500 years.
Upon arrival in Jaipur, check in at your hotel. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, famed for its broad avenues, imposing forts, and magnificent royal palaces built in characteristic pink stone, once home to the Maharajas. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Jaipur.
Set out in the morning after breakfast, on an excursion to Amer Fort, one of the most beautiful constructions in Rajasthan and a shining example of local architecture. It contains a beautiful Sheesh Mahal, a room in which all four walls and the ceiling are completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces specially imported from Belgium. On the way to Amber Fort, stop at Hawa Mahal to snap some pictures of this stunning ‘Palace of Winds’. In the afternoon, visit the Maharaja's City Palace, the former Royal Residence, part of which has been converted into a museum. A private portion of it is still used by the Royal Family of Jaipur. Following that, visit Jantar Mantar, the world-famous observatory made of stone and marble, still in working condition and finish the day at your hotel in Jaipur.
Overnight in Jaipur.
In the morning, after breakfast drive to the spellbinding city of Agra, stopping to visit Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Fatehpur Sikri is a deserted capital city built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 AD. It was abandoned 15 years later due to a severe water shortage. Today, it is listed as a World Heritage Monument. After this short visit, continue to Agra and check in at the hotel. Agra is one of the most visited cities in India, and most of its visitors come for one thing: the Taj Mahal, which you will visit in the afternoon. Its white non-porous marble is a witness to the true love of Emperor Shah Jehan for his beloved Mumtaz Mahal, enshrining in the edifice her mortal remains. For that reason, it is often referred to as a ‘Love Poem in Marble' (closed on Fridays).
Overnight in Agra.
Enjoy a morning visit to the Agra Fort, a breathtaking building made with red sandstone and the same marble used to construct the Taj Mahal, a special kind of marble brought from Makrana. The lofty battlements of the Agra Fort cast a protective shadow over the many mansions of nobles and princes built along the riverfront. In the afternoon, drive back to Delhi and check in to your hotel.
Overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast in the hotel, hop onto your transfer to the international Airport of Delhi, where you’ll catch your flight to your next destination.
